Biodynamic Massage
Biodynamic Massage combines deep tissue massage with biodynamic cranial work. It integrates a deep knowledge of physical anatomy and alignment with a more subtle awareness of fluid and spatial systems of the body. Biodynamic massage uses deeper pressure to muscle and fascia while listening to the energetic changes that occur in response throughout the entire body, often facilitating the unwinding of long held patterns of tension and stress. It employs a balanced blend of direct vs. indirect techniques.
Often slower and more deliberate than most deep tissue massage, biodynamic massage is very meditative for the client. A significant amount of time is spent working with deep pressure, comfortably, on a particularly dense or potent point. Todd will stay with this place until there is a definitive, felt change in tissue resiliency. As the connective tissues regain their subtle expansions and contractions, movements or profound stillness of the body may be experienced by the client. Sometimes assistance is provided to the spine or limbs as stretches or positions of ease emerge from the treatment.
Todd began developing Biodynamic Massage in 1992. Currently working with two apprentices on a weekly basis, he hopes to provide greater access to this highly effective massage approach. As his schedule often fills months in advance, he would be happy to refer you Beth John and Donna Oefinger to receive more timely treatment as needed. |
